Faira, Sophia Spies' experimental folk project, breaks traditional song structures and challenges the conventional listening experience. The 32-year-old self-taught musician from Cologne creates her unique version of folk with her bold compositions. Faira's songs are about family, vulnerability, and hope - reflecting the trials and tribulations of life. With her soft and somber voice, she sings her way out of the human heaviness of being into a permeable lightness. In June 2024, Faira will release an EP on Papercup Records as the first part of a three-part series.
