Welcome to the jungle! Der Assistent seems to be at the end of his rope. He comes around in a daze at the dubious clinic under the palm trees. Diagnosis: Amnesia in the Amazon! A dose of cactus juice should help him search for clues in the swamp of memories. But in the end, all that remains is the realization: „Nichts holt mich ab, so wie die Melancholie.“ (nothing picks me up like melancholy)
As with his debut, Der Assistent is accompanied in the second part of his odyssey by the sounds of the late seventies and early eighties: a sound like on a mixtape that has been lying in the South American sun for too long. He throws wave, dub, and Neue Deutsche Warheit into the musical cauldron. Forever vacations, blue-eyed soul, magic mountain dub, and a breeze of ‘Sade’ on LSD take you on a relaxing journey. And before you know it, the sounds turn toward trippy Tropicalia romance filled with a Lo-fi R&B groove, sweaty jazz chords, and a spicy Latino hook.
